About the position

The Part Time Faculty/Lecturer in Computer Science at Sul Ross State University is responsible for teaching Computer Science classes and ensuring that teaching objectives align with program objectives. The position requires a strong working knowledge of core computer science concepts, including data structures, software engineering, operating systems, and computer architecture. The faculty member will work collaboratively with department members to facilitate student transitions from lower-level to upper-level coursework. This position is security sensitive, and the faculty member must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Masters in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of core computer science concepts including data structures, software engineering, operating systems, and computer architecture.

• Teaching experience and research at the university level.
• Industry experience.
• Administrative experience and committee work at the university level.
• Experience developing an application from design to publication.

Benefits

• Salary range of $2,550 - $3,200 based on degree and enrollment.
• Additional compensation for classes with more than 20 students.
• Summer faculty pay of $4,200 per 3 SCH, prorated for fewer than 10 students.
