PART-TIME FACULTY, EMERGENCY MEDICAL CERTIFICATION INSTRUCTOR (Non-credit)

About the position

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as needed basis. We accept applications on a continual basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill temporary assignments. Applicants will remain in the pool for 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide lectures and labs to increase students' knowledge and competence of basic and advanced life support measures.
• Teach classes in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Heartsaver First Aid, and Stop the Bleed.

Requirements

• Any bachelor's degree AND two (2) years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience, or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association Instructor certification in any BLS, ACLS, and PALS or current certification from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians in PHTLS.

Nice-to-haves

• Current certification as an EMT or current licensure as a Paramedic.
• Minimum of two (2) years work experience in pre-hospital or hospital settings.
• Associates, bachelor's or master's degree in emergency medical services, nursing, or other closely related field.
