About the position
The Part Time English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher position at the Reformed Church of Highland Park Affordable Housing Corporation (RCHP-AHC) involves teaching online English classes to adult learners at beginner and low intermediate levels. This role is contract-based and requires a commitment to deliver a minimum of two classes per week, fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Teach online, synchronous English language classes to adult learners at beginner and low intermediate levels.
- Deliver 2 or 3 classes weekly per course, with each class totaling 3 instructional hours.
- Participate in training sessions and prepare lesson plans using the provided curriculum.
- Schedule class times in coordination with the employer.
- Foster a supportive and interactive learning environment.
Requirements
- Preference given to applicants with previous experience in teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) or experience working with adult learners.
- Must reside in New Jersey.
- Proficiency and comfort in using Zoom for online teaching.
- Ability to commit to teaching a minimum of 2 classes and a maximum of 4 classes per week.
- Highly motivated, organized, possessing excellent communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively.
