About the position
The Part-time Dentist at Wellpath is responsible for providing dental services to inmate patients within a correctional facility. This role emphasizes adherence to security regulations while delivering compassionate care to underserved populations. Responsibilities
- Provides dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
- Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
- Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinically appropriate recommendations.
- Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
- Maintains accurate and confidential patient records and provides in-service training for health staff members.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
- One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.
- Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.
