About the position
The Parts and Component Engineering Intern at Alstom will gain hands-on experience in supporting Aftermarket Customers with engineering requests related to parts, components, and subsystems for various transportation products in the North American market. This role involves collaboration with a diverse engineering team to deliver innovative solutions and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support Aftermarket Customers on engineering requests for parts and components.
- Gain knowledge of rail systems, obsolescence management, and supplier agreements.
- Assist in procurement, sales, and customer service understanding.
- Familiarize with IPC and maintenance manuals for obsolescence management.
- Provide engineering support for solutions including supplier partnerships and circular economy initiatives.
- Create and update engineering change orders and documentation.
- Review vendor technical proposals for compliance with specifications and safety.
- Coordinate with vendors to confirm compliance with customer requirements.
- Interface with end customers and vendors to ensure design validity.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams across various departments.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Completed at least 2 years of study in the chosen major.
