About the position
The Rehab Therapy Summer Internship position at Parkview North Hospital serves as a vital support role within the pediatric department. The intern will assist therapists with daily tasks, contribute to key research projects, and help develop therapy materials, all while ensuring a friendly and approachable demeanor towards patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist the department with daily tasks such as cleaning, stocking, and record keeping.
- Support therapists during therapy tasks in the pediatric department.
- Work on specific research projects assigned by therapists.
- Develop therapy materials for the pediatric program.
Requirements
- Current CNA, EMT, or Paramedic certification, or must take Parkview's Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire.
- Two years of experience in a healthcare-related field, or currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations.
- Current CPR certification at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association, or obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Two years of previous experience in a nursing support role, or a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in direct patient care through work or school programs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of computer skills and applications.
