About the position
The Parks Maintenance Worker position at the City of Chandler involves performing routine preventative maintenance, groundskeeping, and repair activities on various city equipment, park grounds, buildings, and structures. This role is essential for maintaining the quality of life in Chandler by ensuring that over 1,500 acres of parks are safe, clean, and well-maintained. The position requires a passion for customer service and teamwork, and it operates on a schedule from Tuesday to Sunday, 6 AM to 2:30 PM.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on park grounds and equipment.
- Conduct groundskeeping activities to maintain the aesthetic quality of parks.
- Repair and maintain park buildings and structures as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient park operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to park visitors.
Requirements
- Completion of eighth grade; no experience required.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities.
Nice-to-haves
- 1 year of landscaping, irrigation, or sports field maintenance experience.
