About The Position
This position at Summerville Advantage Academy involves supporting teachers in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning. The paraprofessional will conduct learning activities with students, guide them in social interactions, and identify special needs. Responsibilities also include assisting with student supervision, record-keeping, maintaining a tidy learning environment, and managing students during lunch.
Requirements
- High school Diploma and/or GED with Passing Para Pro Test
- Associate’s degree and/or 60 credit hours

Responsibilities
- Participates in daily and long-range lesson and classroom activity planning.
- Conducts learning activities with students.
- Guides students in working and playing harmoniously with other students.
- Alerts the teacher to special needs of individual students.
- Provides escort and assistance to students as needed.
- Helps maintain individual records for students.
- Assists teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
- Assists with the supervision of students.
- Collects and displays suitable materials for educational displays.
- Supervises students in the cafeteria during lunch times.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Director/Principal may assign.
