About The Position
Make a difference every day by joining CCRES as a Paraprofessional through our partnership with Capital Area Intermediate Unit (CAIU)! This role offers paid credentials, eliminating upfront costs for necessary clearances & TB screening. The Special Education Paraprofessional will work on student days following the academic calendar year. Special Education Paraprofessionals may support students in one of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, and Life Skills Supports. The pay rate for the 2026-2027 school year is $24.00/hour. This position includes 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date). The full school day is approximately 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, with potential for a 15-minute difference based on student arrival and dismissal schedules. Pay includes the lunch break. The role involves supporting students in an Autistic Support classroom, requiring comfort with personal care support and behavior redirection.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB for Title I positions
- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance (current within 12 months)
- PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance (current within 12 months)
- PA Department of Education FBI – Use code 1KG6XN (current within 12 months)
- TB Screening - current within 3 months
- Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
Nice To Haves
- 2 years post secondary, Associate's Degree or higher
- Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students - including, but not limited to: on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, and self-care skills
- Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress
- Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal
