About the position

The Fort Lauderdale office of Holland & Knight is seeking a Paralegal for its Real Estate group. This role involves assisting attorneys and practice groups in various legal matters, particularly in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and secured lending. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, along with a solid professional background in real estate law.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, summarize and index documents from various sources.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and/or closings.
  • Prepare documents and correspondence.
  • Coordinate title/survey diligence, document execution and closing logistics.
  • Review and analyze title and survey issues and assist in resolution, including communication with title underwriters and surveyors.
  • Prepare closing documents and ancillary transactional documentation.
  • Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in a related area.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial real estate, preferably at mid to large firms and/or national title insurance underwriter.
  • Strong organizational skills to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys, management, and external clients.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work.
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.

Nice-to-haves

  • Paralegal certification a plus.
