Legal Department The Legal team is responsible for managing the company's legal affairs from compliance through litigation, collaborating with departments such as Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and Innovation along the way. The Legal team also works closely with external law firms to develop a comprehensive legal strategy and manages these partners to address issues efficiently and effectively. Unlike many other companies where legal roles are purely advisory, Vantage distinguishes itself by granting our legal staff the authority to directly influence business decisions. This empowers our internal team to align legal strategies with long-term operational goals, risk management, and cost efficiency to deliver outcomes that support corporate objectives. This approach allows each team member to make significant, impactful decisions, driving substantial results for the company. Position Overview This role can be based in any of our US locations: Ashburn, VA, Denver, CO & Atlanta, GA following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office, 2 days flexible). Or remote. We are seeking a strategic and highly skilled Real Estate Paralegal / Coordinator to join our legal team. This role will provide critical support to the Real Estate Development team in managing land acquisitions, real estate transactions, energy procurement agreements, and related documentation for data center projects. The role will support a team of four attorneys with legal, administrative, and practical assistance. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency throughout the transaction lifecycle, working closely with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and third-party vendors. Beyond providing excellent attention to detail, this candidate will bring a proactive, business-oriented, and problem-solving mindset. You will collaborate closely with the Legal, New Site Development, Site Acquisition, and Power teams, as well as outside counsels and experts, to ensure matters and documentation progress efficiently and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; paralegal certification preferred (but not required).
  • 1–2 years of relevant legal experience in a corporate or law firm setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines, matter trackers and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret and apply legal principles in a business context.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with contract management systems and legal operations tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and organizing real estate documents, including purchase agreements, easements, title commitments, closing statements, and related contracts.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities, including title and survey review, zoning compliance, and environmental reports.
  • Coordinate contract intake, routing, and trackers; ensure version control, signatures, and filing completeness.
  • Ensure DocuSign envelopes and SharePoint folders are properly configured and maintained
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and organizing energy related documents, including power purchase agreements, utility agreements, and related financial commitment agreements.
  • Provide administrative support to the attorneys on the Real Estate Development Team.
  • Track and manage critical dates, contingencies, and closing requirements.
  • Prepare closing checklists and ensure all required documents are executed and delivered on time.
  • Liaise with title companies, escrow agents, and outside counsel to facilitate smooth closings.
  • Work with the internal finance, public policy, real estate, and energy teams on a variety of matters related to the development of data center projects.
  • Maintain organized records of all real estate and energy transactions in company systems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the legal function in cross-functional initiatives and external counsel engagements.
  • Lead efforts to optimize legal operations through process improvements, technology adoption, and knowledge sharing.
  • Update the legal calendar, track key contract deadlines, and maintain status dashboards.
  • Provide administrative support to the attorney team members.
  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
