About the position

The position involves laying out, marking, and performing complex painting assignments on both new delivery and customer-owned aircraft. The goal is to meet Quality Control inspection standards and ensure customer acceptance of the work performed.

Responsibilities

  • Working from oral and written instruction, regularly perform painting operations to include prepping, stripping, sanding, and cleaning.
  • Perform painting rework on completed aircraft (both exterior and interior surfaces), using extreme care to avoid overspray damage to other areas of the aircraft.
  • Match special paint finishes applied in the field, both foreign and domestic.
  • Understand and demonstrate proficiency in the use and adjustment, cleaning, and servicing of spray guns, paint pots, hoses, and other spray equipment.
  • Apply fillers, prep, prime, and paint small and large surfaces, including items as large as fuselage, tails, and wings.
  • Show proficiency in different masking and preparation techniques for stripping and paint operations.
  • Keep inventory of supplies and order in advance to assure needed items are on hand.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification required.
  • Related experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
  • Ability to interpret simple drawings, apply simple arithmetic, and use some measuring instruments.
