About the position
The Painter/Racker position involves preparing parts for painting, applying primers, and learning topcoat applications while maintaining high quality standards. The role requires following prescribed methods and engineering drawings to ensure the painted parts meet specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare parts for painting by cleaning them thoroughly using a degreaser tank and cleaning solutions.
- Interpret blueprints and customer specifications to determine masking and racking requirements.
- Load and set up parts in holding fixtures accurately.
- Apply masking materials to protect specific areas from paint.
- Remove masking materials from painted parts without causing damage.
- Conduct final cleaning and finishing of painted parts to meet drawing specifications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- No prior experience required, but familiarity with manufacturing processes is advantageous.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and planning documents.
- Strong written and verbal English skills to follow detailed instructions accurately.
- Eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.
Nice-to-haves
- Basic understanding of paint mixing and application techniques.
- Familiarity with interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
