About the position

The Painter position at Crothall Healthcare involves installing and maintaining interior and exterior building wall finishes and surfaces using various materials such as paint, coatings, and wall coverings. The role is essential in ensuring that the healthcare environment is aesthetically pleasing and safe for patients and staff. The position requires a full-time commitment, with a schedule from Monday to Friday, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the healthcare industry through quality maintenance work.

Responsibilities

• Selects proper tools and equipment including paints, brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other materials.
• Prepares paints to match specific colors by blending and mixing required proportions.
• Transports material and equipment to the job site or arranges for transport of heavy items.
• Prepares the site by covering furniture and equipment with drop cloths and masking areas as needed.
• Cleans, repairs, and patches surfaces including metals, wood, and masonry before painting.
• Installs, removes, and replaces cove bases, ceiling tiles, and wall-mounted items.
• Performs caulking, sanding, taping, and application of special finishes.
• Makes minor repairs to spray and roller equipment and simulates various effects.
• Recommends substitute materials or colors to improve work efficiency.
• Requisitions and receives materials and maintains simple records and time reports.
• Cuts stencils and applies decorations or lettering on surfaces.
• Paints signs on various surfaces such as walls and doors.
• Installs wall coverings and similar materials.
• Freehands highlighting, shading, and applies stipple & glaze finishes.
• Removes, repairs, and installs ceramic tile floors, walls, and ceilings.
• Tapes and spackles drywall in preparation for painting.
• Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with appropriate fillers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of trade school or 2 years of experience as a Painter in a similar institution.
• Ability to lift medium and/or heavy equipment and tools.
• Ability to work in environments with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and dirt.
