About The Position

QRY, a media-buying agency specializing in scaling retail brands, is seeking a Paid Search Strategist to manage search performance across a client portfolio. This role involves planning, launching, and optimizing search and shopping campaigns on platforms like Google, Bing, and YouTube, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and clear communication. The ideal candidate has experience managing search and SEM budgets for retail and e-commerce brands, possesses strong analytical and communication skills, and thrives in a high-performance, supportive agency environment.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of successful hands-on paid search or SEM experience, ideally in an agency environment.
  • Experience managing and optimizing search and shopping programs (Google, Bing, YouTube, and other retail channels where relevant).
  • Experience managing search / SEM budgets for retail and ecommerce brands.
  • Ability to turn data into crisp decisions.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas simply to teammates and clients.
  • Analytical thinker with experience turning complex data into digestible reports, seeing the big picture, and breaking it down into an actionable plan.
  • Top-notch communication skills, able to communicate with senior stakeholders effectively and efficiently.
  • Master of time management, able to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Genuine interest in the e-commerce, advertising, and agency space.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot with innovative solutions.
  • Genuine passion for learning and staying updated with the latest trends in digital advertising and marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, book, and optimize paid search campaigns (Google AdWords, YouTube, Bing Ads, Amazon, etc.) for 5-8 clients using search planning tools.
  • Strategize and implement A/B experiments for keywords, bid strategies, ad copy, landing pages, and offers.
  • Advise on paid search strategies, rationales, and plans to meet client goals.
  • Stay current on the latest trends in search, social media, mobile marketing, tracking and tagging, behavioral marketing, retargeting, and addressability.
  • Manage monthly reporting and strategy sessions with clients for the paid search channel, owning communication for channel initiatives.
  • Scope, develop, and manage channel initiatives to consistently meet performance goals across all clients.
  • Act as a strategic advisor and recommend strategic pivots to enhance channel performance.
  • Present reports to clients, highlighting channel performance, its contribution to the overall funnel, and its impact on the client's business, with recommendations for next steps.
  • Complete monthly forecasts for respective channels based on budget and/or revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with other media and creative agency team members to ensure negotiated plan specifications are met.
  • Identify cross-channel strategies and collaborations to improve client performance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients about team capabilities and opportunities, and proactively offer solutions for ad hoc issues.
