About PACT: “Honoring our Heritage. Building our Future.” Partners Achieving Community Transformation (PACT) is an affiliated entity of The Ohio State University. The organization was originally formed in 2010 as a partnership between the City of Columbus, The Ohio State University, Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) and Near East Side stakeholders. In 2019 the organization transitioned to a new model with The Ohio State University as the primary operating partner. PACT’s vision is to create a healthy, financially and environmentally sustainable community where residents have access to safe and affordable housing, quality healthcare and education, and employment opportunities in a defined 800-acre geography on the Near East Side of Columbus, Ohio. In 2010, PACT set out to create a long-range master plan for the neighborhood. For two years, PACT led a successful community-driven process and in July 2013, launched its master plan, “The Blueprint for Community Investment.” This comprehensive master plan focuses on four key areas of improvement for the Near East Side: Health & Wellness, Education, Housing, Jobs & Economic Impact, and Safety. The Blueprint for Community Investment can be found at www.eastpact.org Now After 15+ years PACT is revisiting the Blueprint to engage and convene the community, residents, businesses, community leaders, corporate partners and foundations to plan for the future of the PACT geography.
