About The Position

The Van Drunen Family of Companies is growing! This role is responsible for performing daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-speed packaging equipment to ensure safe and efficient production. The Packaging Mechanic will also complete emergency repairs, routine inspections, and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems. They will partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance teams to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement. Additionally, they will evaluate packaging line performance, help implement process improvements, maintain critical spare parts inventory, coordinate calibrations or validations, and support facility maintenance needs. This is a hands-on technical role supporting high-speed packaging operations within a growing global manufacturer.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience maintaining and operating high-speed packaging equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Proven mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food production.
  • Strong working knowledge of equipment controls, manufacturing technologies, and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and exercise sound judgment when responding to issues.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-speed packaging equipment to keep production running safely and efficiently.
  • Complete emergency repairs, routine inspections, and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance teams to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate packaging line performance and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and output.
  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory and coordinate calibrations or validations with contractors as assigned.
  • Support facility maintenance needs, including structural and exterior repairs, and assist with complex maintenance projects.
