About The Position

Discover Impactful work: Participate in Packaging Equipment maintenance. Maintain a functional supply of replacement parts. Maintain packaging and processing equipment in good operating condition. Provide technical support relating to development of tooling and equipment. Complies with government regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs.) Assists on-the-job training of new or unfamiliar associates. Complete PMs, installs equipment and performs emergency repairs. Weekend Shift Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Saturday 7 AM - 7:30 PM. Day in the Life: Responsible for maintenance and repair of process/packaging equipment on a timely basis. Develop, fabricate and re-build parts to improve operation of equipment and product quality. Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns by evaluating problems, determines best course of action and ensures rapid implementation to minimize production downtime. Make suggestions and assists in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives that maximize overall equipment efficiency (OEE). Train line Set-up Operators/Operators. Assists packaging line staff with troubleshooting. Maintains line and other documentation as necessary. Participate in the selection of new production and plant equipment as required. Evaluate and recommend replacement parts. Acts as Fire Warden. Maintain a safe working environment and reports potential hazards. Perform alternating or rotating shift work including weekend shifts as well as requirements to work during maintenance shutdowns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required
  • College Certificate/Degree in Industrial Millwright
  • Certified Ontario Trades Person Licensed to practice as Industrial Millwright 433A is required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with packaging equipment setup/troubleshooting in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Solid background dealing with liquid/tube/tablet fillers, labelers, cartoners and overwrappers.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Regulations.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficiency with the English Language.
  • Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the Canada.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Good working knowledge of electronics and pneumatics is desirable.
