About the position

B&B Roadway and Security Solutions, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Outside Sales / Business Development Specialist to be located at our McKinney, TX office. This person will be expected to travel to our Russellville, AL location as well as to various sites throughout the U.S. to pursue business opportunities (estimated travel 50%). The primary function of the BD Specialist will be to create long-term value through building mutually beneficial relationships influencing loyalty within the Roadway market. The Business Development Specialist will engage decision-makers (contractors, subcontractors, DOTs, etc.) in the industry through conferences, tradeshows, events, social media, and other means necessary to develop brand awareness, market expansion and to meet and exceed revenue targets. Position will also collaborate with the sales team to develop and maintain key account and partner relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Create long-term value through building mutually beneficial relationships in the Roadway market.
  • Engage decision-makers in the industry through various means to develop brand awareness and market expansion.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and maintain key account and partner relationships.
  • Develop a business plan and outline goals annually.
  • Assist in the evaluation and design of project offerings and understand company offerings and technical preferences.
  • Participate in team and client meetings, effectively communicating relevant project information.
  • Conduct research and build knowledge in the industry, sharing knowledge with others.
  • Use CRM and calendar to log interactions, sales calls, and meetings regarding future projects and potential opportunities.
  • Participate in ad hoc process improvement projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience (minimum 5 years).
  • 2+ years of successful outside roadway sales experience or other industry related successful outside sales experience.
  • Experience selling in a matrix organization and navigating through the executive levels of large multi-level customers.
  • Ability to develop a business plan and outline goals annually.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Detailed, organized, analytical and reliable.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and CRM software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the roadway market or related industries.
  • Familiarity with project evaluation and design processes.
