About the position

As a Dialysis Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) with Fresenius Medical Care, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for delivering personalized care plans and providing dialysis treatment to patients with end-stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with patients and their families while participating in a Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) to enhance your career and clinical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned group of hemodialysis patients.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff.
• Perform ongoing analysis of patient data with each visit and document in the patient medical record.
• Adjust or modify the treatment plan as indicated and notify supervisor as needed.
• Provide initial and ongoing education to patients and families.
• Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness.
• Initiate or assist with emergency response measures.
• Ensure correct laboratory collection, processing, and shipping procedures are performed.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team on the patient care plan.
• Ensure patient awareness related to transplant and treatment modality options.
• Complete CAP requirements to maintain or advance within the program.
• Make referrals to Social Worker and Registered Dietitian as appropriate.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state of employment.
• Compassionate and caring qualities.
• Collaborative and reliable nature.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a Registered Nurse (preferred but not required).
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred but not required).
• Successfully pass the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
