Wake County’s Human Resources Department is seeking an Organizational Development Manager to lead strategies that strengthen workforce performance, guide organizational change and enhance employee experience across the county. In this highly visible role, you will oversee multiple organizational development functions and leadership teams responsible for workforce planning, succession planning, performance management, employee engagement, rewards and recognition, and learning and development programs that support more than 5,000 employees across Wake County government. As a key strategic partner, you will shape initiatives that support leaders, teams and the broader organization as it continues to grow and evolve, placing you at the center of meaningful, system‑wide impact. In this role, key areas of responsibility include: Leading and developing organizational development leaders and teams responsible for enterprise talent management and employee development programs Establishing and advancing enterprise strategies related to workforce planning, succession planning, leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, and recognition programs Guiding the development of scalable frameworks, tools and programs that strengthen organizational effectiveness and leadership capability across departments Partnering with county leadership to identify workforce trends, organizational needs and development opportunities that support long-term organizational success Leading cross-functional and cross-departmental initiatives focused on employee experience, culture and strategic talent development Driving alignment between organizational development initiatives and county strategic priorities, operational goals and workforce needs Using data, feedback and organizational insights to evaluate program effectiveness and inform improvement opportunities Fostering collaboration across HR functions and departments to deliver integrated, customer-focused talent and organizational development solutions This role offers the opportunity to influence how Wake County grows its talent, develops leaders and creates a thriving employee experience.
