About the position

The Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA Jr level position is a remote contract role focused on database administration for Oracle and PostgreSQL systems. The role involves system monitoring, user account management, and incident ticket management, with an emphasis on supporting the database environment in a collaborative team setting. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of database management and a willingness to grow within the role.

Responsibilities

• System monitoring, daily job monitoring and remediation
• Monitor accounts and passwords, perform data loads, and write PL/SQL scripts
• User and account management using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and Oracle File Watcher
• Manage approximately 10-15 incident tickets per day
• Respond to incident submissions and provide DBA on-call support
• Collaborate with Siebel Administration teams, Unix Team, and Tier-3 Escalation Support Team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of experience with Oracle 19c+
• 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL
• 3+ years of experience with Database Management Systems Tools
• 3+ years of experience with Linux Operating Systems and Solaris Operating Systems
• 3+ years of experience with PL/SQL, Bash, Cron, and Python
• 3+ years of experience with Monitoring Tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, DynaTrace, and Oracle File Watcher
• 1+ year of experience with DISA STIGs and Nessus
• 1+ year of experience with Agile/SAFe methodologies

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Electronic Data Interface (EDI) processing
• Familiarity with 270/271 transactions and/or other X12 data formats
