Oracle Applications DBA

About the position

The Oracle Applications DBA position involves a comprehensive understanding of Oracle database and Oracle Applications 11i and R12/R12.2 concepts, architecture, related utilities, and tools. The role requires maintaining and administering Oracle applications in multi-node environments, performing day-to-day administration and troubleshooting of Oracle databases and applications, and managing performance diagnostics and tuning. Responsibilities also include patching Oracle Applications, managing concurrent managers, and maintaining security at both database and application levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and administer Oracle applications multi-node environments.
• Perform day-to-day Oracle database and Oracle Applications administration and troubleshooting.
• Maintain and patch Oracle Applications using adpatch and adop.
• Conduct performance diagnostics and tuning for Oracle databases and Oracle Applications.
• Tune performance of concurrent programs.
• Administer users and responsibility assignments.
• Clone Oracle Applications instances.
• Manage and maintain the concurrent managers.
• Maintain and administer the WebLogic components for R12.2 EBiz.
• Administer, manage, and maintain Oracle Workflow processes.
• Work with RAC, ASM, and Standby/Data Guard databases.
• Patch Oracle RDBMS including PSU/CPU/Rollup patches.
• Perform database backup and recovery tasks.
• Ensure strong database and applications level security.
• Troubleshoot Oracle database errors.
• Utilize RMAN and OEM Grid control.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systems.
• Manage code migration, database change management, and data management through various stages of the development life cycle.
• Work independently with minimum supervision.
• Document processes and communicate effectively.

Requirements

• Excellent understanding of Oracle database and Oracle Applications 11i and R12/R12.2.
• Experience in maintaining and administering multi-node environments.
• Strong knowledge of performance diagnostics and tuning.
• Experience with Oracle RDBMS patching.
• Proficiency in database backup and recovery tasks.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN and OEM Grid control.
• Sound knowledge of Linux and UNIX operating systems.
• Good documentation, presentation, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in code migration and database change management.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 per annum
