About The Position

This is a 20 hour a week OPS (Temporary) position at the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs, Robert H. Jenkins State Veterans' Domiciliary Home in Lake City, Columbia County. The incumbent will report directly to the House Keeping and Laundry Manager and will be primarily responsible for cleaning all common areas and resident rooms.

Requirements

• Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Must be willing and able to work at least 20 hours a week.
• Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds.
• Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

• Have at least one year of cleaning experience in a commercial setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversight and cleaning of all resident common areas, windows, all porches, & interior areas as assigned.
• Emptying and cleaning of trashcans, straightening, replacing of furniture, dust mopping, and wet mopping.
• Pressure wash porches and exterior building.
• Clean window and door glass in assigned areas.
• Monitor equipment, furniture, and fixtures in the area of your responsibility.
• Report major repair needs.
• Perform other custodial duties as required.
