Responsibilities

• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Determining visual acuity
• Performing automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes
• Performing basic lensometry
• Conducting pupillary assessment
• Performing visual field testing
• Conducting PAM
• Performing basic ocular motility assessment
• Conducting automated keratometry
• Performing osmolarity testing
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered by the physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks, including entering data into EMR and providing patient services
• Measuring intraocular pressure (tonometry)
• Preparing patients for pre-operative procedures
• Maintaining equipment and instruments
• Performing ocular imaging including OCT and Topography
• Providing post-operative education

Requirements

• 3-5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred
• COA preferred
• Access to dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as needed
• Flexibility to travel to various locations
• Attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Willingness to seek instruction in areas of uncertainty
• Ability to recognize inconsistencies
