About The Position

Our dedicated Eye Care team of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Orthoptists and Nurses, along with Certified Technicians and Assistants, provide next level diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the eye using state of the art technology. Our providers specialize in various ophthalmology and optometry subspecialties including Cornea and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma, Neuro Ophthalmology, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, and Vitreoretinal Disease. Our all-inclusive approach ensures our present and future patients receive the best outcome possible.

Requirements

  • As a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT): JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) and two years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology as a COT or COA
  • As a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA): JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) and two years of clinical experience in Ophthalmology
  • As a Non-certified Ophthalmic Assistant (OA): One year of clinical experience in Optometry/Ophthalmology and the ability to obtain Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification within 2 years of hire is required

Responsibilities

  • Records patient history while following JCAHPO / M Physicians guidelines
  • Tests and records basic Visual Assessment tasks with patients
  • Assists with testing including Visual Fields, Pupillary Assessments, Lensometry, Keratometry, and supplementary testing
  • Schedules initial and follow-up appointments, including labs
  • Assists with minor procedures and administers eye drops
  • Assists with overall clinic flow and patient satisfaction
