Our Manassas, Virginia site is a part of the Consumer Health division and provides expanded capabilities in soft chews and lozenges. With extensive development and manufacturing expertise and a wide range of flavors, ingredients, and colors available, we can work with complex formulations to help create engaging new products consumers will love. The Production Operator will support production of packaged goods according to Standard Operating Procedures and specified quality standards. The Production Operator carries out specific instructions from Production Manager/Supervisor in accordance with the daily packaging schedule. This is a 12 hour rotating schedule on day shift. 2:2:3 (on: off: on) 6pm-6am.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and organize pallets of the correct product from WIP storage area.
  • Dump boxes into the hopper and dispose of plastic liners.
  • Verify no unwrapped chews are going through the hopper and elevator.
  • Check that boxes and labels are correct and pack the boxes with the specified number of chews.
  • Ensure that only #1 products are packed and catch any defects before boxing.
  • Move completed boxes to the tape machine for palletizing.
  • Load boxes from hand packers through the tape machine onto the pallet for stacking according to batch records.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, and infrequently move up to 1000 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
