About the position

The Process Operator is responsible for the startup and shutdown of equipment, performing minor maintenance, and coordinating repairs with the Maintenance Department. This role requires effective communication and troubleshooting skills to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup and shutdown of equipment using appropriate procedures and checklists.
• Conduct minor maintenance and coordinate repairs with the Maintenance Department.
• Troubleshoot and correct deficiencies with process/equipment and communicate to management.
• Complete the 'Trouble-Shooting Guide' as necessary prior to writing Work Requests.
• Understand and apply Control of Work (CoW) and Process Safety policies and procedures.
• Write a log of all activities during the shift and provide thorough handover to the oncoming operator.
• Accurately read levels, pressures, temperatures, and other operational components.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree or associate degree is advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or technical field training in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with distillation, filtration, separation, blending, storage, shipping, and chemical reaction processes is preferred.
• Strong mechanical proficiency with an understanding of physical science, chemistry, and mathematics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficient computer skills.
• Ability to systematically identify root causes and troubleshoot safety hazards.
