About The Position

Braun Intertec is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our Construction Materials Testing (CMT) operations in the Wichita Falls, TX office. This role involves leading a team of technicians and special inspectors, ensuring the quality and technical success of field aspects of projects, and managing equipment and vehicles. The supervisor will also play a key role in policy development, staff mentorship, and client interaction.

  • Excellent construction document reading and interpretation skills.
  • Understanding and experience performing field testing and Special Inspections related to soils, concrete, and masonry in commercial and public projects.
  • Computer aptitude and ability to adapt to company’s systems.
  • High School diploma or equivalent minimum.
  • ACI Field Level I Certification required.
  • Nuclear Density Gauge Certification required.
  • Experience in materials testing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in materials testing or construction.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Understands safety matrices and expectations.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain required ICC certifications as necessary and within reasonable timeframe.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school or college course work a plus.
  • Relevant post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering or Construction Management a preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of technicians and special inspectors responsible for completing field work.
  • Supervise, mentor, train, and assist with hiring of staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews of technicians.
  • Assist office leadership in the development and implementation of CMT policies and best practices.
  • Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
  • Prepare complete and accurate daily reports on observation activities.
  • Support the company safety policy and implement safe work practices.
  • Perform safety audits of field staff.
  • Coordinate with scheduler and other regional operations to share resources and manage workloads.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of assigned personnel.
  • Work closely with consulting staff representatives to prepare proposals.
  • Perform quality control review of testing and inspection work.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate with members of the consulting group on project progress and issues.
  • Manage and maintain field and laboratory equipment, including calibrations and supporting laboratory accreditation related activities.
  • Assist in management of local fleet vehicles, including planning, maintenance and stewardship.
  • Collect and communicate business intelligence collected during the performance of services.
