About The Position

We are a growing home service company in Mohave County specializing in HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical services. We are seeking our first-ever Operations Manager to build and establish operational discipline within the company. This is a key partner role where you will own day-to-day operations, drive the team towards their performance goals, and have significant autonomy to shape operational processes. You will collaborate closely with the two owners, who lead the company's vision and strategy, bringing your operational expertise to complement their strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in operations management or leading multiple departments within home services or a similar service-based business (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, restoration, pest control, commercial services, property management).
  • Financial fluency, including the ability to read and interpret P&Ls, understand departmental margins, KPIs, and budgets.
  • Proven ability to develop and improve team members.
  • Direct and warm communication style, capable of having difficult conversations constructively.
  • Systems-thinking approach to problem-solving, focusing on process improvement rather than blame.
  • Ability to document processes and create playbooks to reduce reliance on individual heroics.
  • Willingness to relocate to and work on-site in Mohave County.

  • Background that includes both office and field experience in a service business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop department managers (Service, Call Center, Install) to enhance their leadership skills.
  • Own the operational rhythm of the business, including daily huddles, weekly flash reports, and monthly reviews to ensure departmental accountability.
  • Drive the team to meet budget goals by partnering with department managers on KPIs, conversion rates, hiring needs, and strategic plans.
  • Build and implement processes where they are currently lacking, bringing structure to departments that need it.
  • Act as the connective tissue between departments, ensuring alignment and resolving inter-departmental conflicts.
  • Coach managers through challenging situations, including accountability conversations and performance issues.
  • Partner with the ownership team on strategy, planning, and company growth, providing an operational perspective.
