About The Position

The Operations Manager will lead the continued transformation of operations to a world-class lean manufacturing culture. This role involves the creation and implementation of the Adams Production System using various modern tools to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and scrap. The manager will sustain and administer continuous improvement activities driving lean methodologies, act as a visionary leader exemplifying company values, and ensure company strategic goals are met. This position requires collaboration with other managers, analysis of production data, product inspection for quality, and identification/correction of process inefficiencies. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, developing safety procedures, and collaborating on budget development. This role also includes hiring, training, directing, and evaluating front-line employees, as well as handling discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience highly preferred.

  • Hires and trains front-line employees.
  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Lead the continued transformation of operations to a world class lean manufacturing culture.
  • Creation and implementation of the Adams Production System using various modern tools as appropriate in order to support continuous improvement in areas such as safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and scrap.
  • Sustains and administers continuous improvement activities that will drive lean methodologies.
  • A visionary leader that exemplifies company values and ensures company strategic goals are understood and met by all team members. Motivates and empowers the team.
  • Develops staff and organization with vision to support future company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  • Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Collaborates with other departmental managers to develop and execute budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
