About the position

As an Operations Business Analyst II at Ameriprise Financial, you will play a crucial role in providing critical support through in-depth analysis and reporting. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that drive business decisions. You will identify opportunities for process improvement, refine existing reporting models, and ensure data accuracy across various operations. Serving as a subject matter expert on medium-sized projects, you will help develop and implement solutions that address operational challenges. Collaboration across teams will be essential as you work to optimize business performance and efficiency. In this role, you will be tasked with completing bank movements and tracking for Ameriprise Bank Sweep, developing solutions for complex challenges, and recommending changes to policies, procedures, and the overall business model. You will track Broker Dealer cash balances daily and conduct numerous audits on behalf of the Broker Dealer to ensure compliance with regulations. Additionally, you will be responsible for daily reconciliation of unclaimed check suspense and control sheets, processing check reissues, and reviewing loan checks. Your analytical skills will be vital in ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Complete bank movements and tracking for Ameriprise Bank Sweep
  • Develop solutions for complex challenges

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, business, Mathematics, Economics, computer programming or applicable experience
  • 1+ years of analyst experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of one or more Business Intelligence and Data Mining Tools (SQL, python etc.)
  • Experience in visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Money Market Sweep knowledge
  • Experience with BETA
  • Strong focus on qualitative and quantitative data analysis including statistical techniques, general data analysis, and trend analysis
  • Ability to quickly grasp and articulate the essence of complex issues/data
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate action, and adapt to change
  • Strong relationship and communication skills in working with colleagues and influencing customers on recommendations and analysis
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment - proactive, flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
