About the position
The Logistics & Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in managing logistics and operations for a company that builds and rents products for the commercial construction industry. This position requires a blend of logistics experience and construction knowledge to effectively handle various operational tasks, including data management, vendor relations, and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Transfer data to Microsoft Excel
- Handle paperwork from truck drivers
- Create purchase orders and deal with vendors
- Keep inventory on rental items and perform forecasting
- Handle office duties as well as operations management as needed
- Create invoices
- Order office and industrial supplies such as lumber and steel for operations
- Negotiate pricing for products
- Schedule trucks for shipments
- Create packets of information
- Answer phones
- May unload incoming trucks with forklifts if short-staffed
- Perform other administrative, operations, and logistics duties as assigned
Requirements
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Self-starter with strong decision-making skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
- Logistics experience preferred
- Operations experience preferred
- Construction knowledge required
