About The Position

Under limited supervision, this role coordinates the operational and financial functions of the Patient Care Services department. Acting as a key resource across departments, this position ensures the efficient use of resources, drives data-informed decision-making, and supports the organization's operational and financial goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of professional work experience in healthcare or business operations is required.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communicator, comfortable engaging with all levels of healthcare and finance professionals - from frontline staff to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to build relationships across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and time management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, immediate deadlines, and unexpected changes.
  • Expert proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and finance-related software programs.
  • Experience working within an ERP system for scheduling, timekeeping, and managing procurement and invoice processing.
  • Strong knowledge of the variables used to create and model financial data, paired with a solid understanding of operating principles, business processes, and healthcare regulations pertinent to patient care delivery.
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and manage highly complex information.
  • Uses strong reasoning and problem-solving skills to reach sound, workable solutions and resolve conflict.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, professional, and solutions-oriented work ethic.
  • Exercises sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information with a deep sensitivity to the political dynamics of an academic medical environment.

  • Healthcare-related experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in Infor is preferred.
  • Experience working with B4 Health, Axiom, and Kronos for resource management - and able to serve as a departmental resource and trainer for technology-related needs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and validates financial assumptions, calculations, and schedules in accordance with GAAP and departmental procedures. Compiles financial reports, conducts complex ad-hoc analyses, and supports scenario modeling to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Monitors financial, productivity, scheduling, supply, and sourcing data. Proactively identifies operational issues, evaluates root causes, and makes recommendations for resolution. Evaluates processes to ensure compliance with policies and regulations and promotes sound business practices.
  • Partners with managers to document and operationalize staffing, scheduling, and recruitment plans. Supports Kronos scheduling, timekeeping, and analytics processes, serving as a key point of contact for managers, timekeepers, schedulers, and payroll staff.
  • Obtains and integrates benchmarking data, identifies emerging trends, and structures further analysis to support continuous improvement. Creates data feeds and interface files, auditing and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Serves as project lead on intra- and interdepartmental initiatives. Develops project plans, analyzes resource needs, and oversees implementation and monitoring of recommended changes. Drives effective teamwork, communication, and collaboration across teams with competing priorities.
  • Functions as the Patient Care Services liaison for interdepartmental discussions related to operational and financial issues, facilitating resolution and ensuring efficiency and stewardship across the organization.
