About the position

Get ready for an immersive 12-week experience with our Summer Internship Program at Inari Medical! This program will offer students a unique opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of medical devices, where cutting-edge technology meets medical innovation. This is not just an internship; it's a chance to learn from and work alongside seasoned industry professionals to make an impact on patients' lives. The program will take place onsite at our headquarters located in Irvine, California consisting of two cohort options: 5/19/25 - 8/15/25 and 6/16/25 - 9/12/25.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering team and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in various operational areas.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, leveraging data-driven insights to make informed recommendations.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies to investigate and resolve issues, including conducting root cause analyses to drive sustainable solutions.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of operational excellence initiatives, including lean principles and best practices.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials to promote operational consistency.
  • Assist in project management, tracking, and execution of operational improvement projects, providing hands-on support to project teams.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to gather feedback, insights, and suggestions for enhancing operational effectiveness.
  • Generate reports to track the progress and impact of operational excellence initiatives. Ensure that all operational activities comply with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related fields.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Strong experience in statistics, data analysis, and interpreting data to drive decision-making, including proficiency with Minitab for data analysis and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, including conducting root cause analyses and implementing effective solutions.
  • Confidence in public speaking and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adapt easily in an ever-changing environment and challenge the status quo.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Lean Six Sigma (Green, White, or Yellow Belt) are a plus, but not required.
