About the position

The University of Georgia is seeking applications for an open rank, tenure-track faculty position in Manufacturing, Systems, and Automation, focusing on Integrative Precision Agriculture. This role aims to attract candidates with expertise in data science, agriculture, and advanced manufacturing, contributing to innovative solutions in these fields. The position is part of a major hiring initiative and will be housed within the College of Engineering's School of Environmental, Civil, Agricultural, and Mechanical Engineering (ECAM).

Responsibilities

  • Develop a vigorous, high-impact, externally funded research program.
  • Collaborate with existing faculty and members of the cluster hire.
  • Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral scientists effectively.
  • Support the teaching mission at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Contribute to an inclusive learning environment within the university.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Documented research background appropriate for the appointment rank, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in agriculture or biology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing industry collaborations.
  • Strong background in AI for Manufacturing, Design Automation, and Systems.
