The Paul H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University-Bloomington is seeking applications for an open rank faculty position focused on the management and governance of land, energy, or water. This tenure-track or tenured position is part of an interdisciplinary cluster aimed at addressing critical issues in these areas. We are looking for a dynamic social scientist whose research engages with public or nonprofit entities, and we welcome a diverse range of theoretical approaches from fields such as Public Management, Nonprofit Management, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Law, and other related disciplines. The successful candidate will explore topical areas in management or governance, including but not limited to collaboration, adaptation, regulatory reforms, civil society organizing, nonprofit advocacy, and environmental justice. Candidates are expected to develop a nationally competitive research program, which includes securing external funding and demonstrating a successful track record in teaching and mentoring students. The position is primarily targeted at the assistant professor rank, but applicants with qualifications suitable for the rank of associate or full professor will also be considered. To ensure full consideration, application materials must be submitted by October 1, 2024, although the search may continue until the position is filled. The preferred start date for the position is August 1, 2025. O'Neill faculty members are expected to engage with a diverse student and faculty community, and we are particularly interested in candidates who have a proven record of successful teaching and mentoring of students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation college students, low-income students, racial and ethnic minorities, women, and LGBTQ individuals.
