About the position

Hancock Health Gateway is seeking a dedicated MRI CT technician to join our team at the Gateway, Parkway, and McCordsville Imaging Centers. This role is pivotal in shaping a new healthcare experience, where every team member is responsible for creating and managing a high-quality patient experience. Responsibilities

  • Perform and monitor MRI CT procedures per written protocol as requested by physician's order.
  • Adhere to established organizational and departmental policies and safety standards.
  • Assist Radiologists, RA's, and other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Interact with patients of all ages, providing clear instructions and explanations of procedures.
  • Maintain a safe working environment throughout the facility.
  • Be available for on-call and call-back responsibilities as required.
  • Assist lead technologists in recommendations for cost containment and quality improvement.
  • Order and maintain supplies from vendors and CSR.
  • Screen, position, instruct, and explain procedures to patients, including follow-up assessments.
  • Select proper factors, exposures, and sequences for equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Charge exams properly in the ITS system and assist with logging and billing processes.
  • Perform quality assurance testing and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Supervise and evaluate students as needed.
  • Assist with sedations and invasive procedures as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of MRI equipment and pre-exam screening requirements within 3 months of hire date.
  • Computer literacy and understanding of PACS, CR/DR, HIS/RIS systems.
  • Demonstrated organization and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of cross-section anatomy.
  • Ability to critique images against measurable criteria established by Radiology Department SOPs.
  • Capability to work independently without direct supervision for technical details.
  • IV insertion competency if applicable.
  • Ability to administer IV/oral contrast as directed by Radiologist if applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting with a focus on patient care and customer service.
  • Familiarity with AIDET principles and patient-first characteristics.
