Sales & Event Manager Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront Location: 3315 Atlantic Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA Schedule: Full-time, on-property position; must be available for some evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs. Position Overview The Hilton Garden Inn Virginia Beach Oceanfront is seeking an experienced and motivated Sales & Event Manager to join our oceanfront team. This role is responsible for generating revenue through proactive sales efforts, cultivating strong client relationships, and coordinating all details for group and local catering events. Success in this position requires a passion for hospitality, confidence in conducting site tours, and the ability to close sales while delivering exceptional service.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve hotel revenue goals.
  • Identify and pursue key market segments and new business opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and customized client solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate, group, and local clients.
  • Conduct professional site tours and follow up to secure bookings.
  • Provide consistent communication throughout the sales and event lifecycle.
  • Negotiate contracts that protect hotel interests while meeting client needs.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with brand and hotel policies.
  • Plan and manage all aspects of group and catering events including menus, audio-visual, room setups, timelines, and billing.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients and hotel departments to ensure seamless execution.
  • Participate in BEO meetings and staff briefings.
  • Work closely with catering, banquet, front office, and operations teams to guarantee successful events.
  • Prior Hilton brand experience strongly preferred
  • Proven background in hotel sales and/or catering
  • Experience with Delphi or similar event management software
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional presence and confidence when conducting site tours
  • Client-focused mindset with a passion for hospitality
  • Minimum 3 years of in-person customer service experience in hospitality, events, or a client-facing environment
  • Proven availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules

  • Comfortable using or learning event software, BEOs, and internal systems
  • Professional appearance and demeanor in line with Hilton brand standards
  • Prior experience in hotel, venue, or catering event coordination
  • Familiarity with Hilton systems, BEO processes, or A/V and banquet setups
  • Experience working with cross-functional hotel teams (Sales, Culinary, Ops, etc.)
