About the position
The On Site ASI Academic Coach is a part-time position that provides academic coaching and support to girls in grades 3-12 in the Pittsburgh area. The role focuses on increasing academic achievement through a variety of subjects including ELA, math, science, foreign language, and special education. Academic Coaches work with students on skill-building, homework assistance, essay writing, and college preparation, adapting their approach to meet individual or group needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing academic support to the girls across the programs.
- Plan effective instruction that supports academic growth and provide weekly submission of lesson plans.
- Work with afterschool staff and supervisors to integrate academic learning into the daily routines.
- Submit bi-weekly progress notes.
- Communicate effectively with parents, team members, and support agencies.
- Participate actively in all required team meetings, trainings, and supervisory sessions.
- Meet regularly with supervisor to discuss needs, concerns, and ideas; utilize feedback from supervisory sessions.
- Perform in accordance with established system-wide competencies and receive satisfactory performance evaluations annually.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or higher preferred.
- All applicants must be over 21 years of age.
- Effective communication skills and highly organized.
- Experience working with children.
- Experience working in a classroom/after school setting.
