About The Position

SA Recycling is seeking an energetic and highly organized Office Manager to provide administrative support to the General Manager. This role involves overseeing all aspects of office operations and ensuring the smooth running of the yard’s daily activities. The position requires exceptional organizational, administrative, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and with little supervision. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Five plus years’ experience leading teams and managing office functions in the scrap metal, heavy industry, construction, or related industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
  • All US applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve customer complaints, and answer customers' questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Supervise the work of office, administrative, or customer service employees to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.
  • Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems, and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
  • Implement corporate and departmental policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.
  • Discuss job performance problems with employees in order to identify causes and issues, and to work on resolving problems.
  • Train and instruct employees in job duties and company policies, or arrange for training to be provided.
  • Evaluate employees' job performance and conformance to regulations, and recommend appropriate personnel action.
  • Review records and reports pertaining to activities such as production, payroll, and shipping in order to verify details, monitor work activities, and evaluate performance.
  • Recruit, interview, and select employees.
  • Clean up work area at the end of shift.
  • Keep work areas neat and orderly.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.
  • Organizing materials to have more effective use of space.
  • Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
  • Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed.
  • Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
