About the position
Rogers Group is seeking candidates to fill a position as an Off-Road Haul Truck Driver for the stripping crew, based out of the West Huntsville Quarry in Madison, AL. The successful candidate for this position will have familiarity and experience operating articulated and/or rigid frame haul trucks and will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. The primary responsibilities include operating haul trucks to remove overburden and stripping material for quarry production, as well as moving shot rock from the pit to the crusher to initiate the crushing process as needed. In addition to operating the trucks, the driver will be responsible for performing daily pre-and post-inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies. The role also involves servicing and maintaining equipment as trained and directed by management. Effective communication skills are essential for this position, as the operator must work closely with team members and supervisors. The operator is expected to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency while adhering to all company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Wages for this position range from $22.00 to $25.00 per hour, with the starting wage based on experience. Additionally, there is a $3.00 night shift differential for those working night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Operate haul trucks to remove overburden and stripping material for quarry production.
- Move shot rock from the pit to the crusher as needed.
- Perform daily pre-and post-inspections with appropriate documentation.
- Service and maintain equipment as trained and directed by management.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations for safe working procedures.
Requirements
- Familiarity and experience operating articulated and/or rigid frame haul trucks.
- Dedication to safe work practices.
- Previous experience operating both rigid frame haul trucks and/or articulating haul trucks preferred.
- Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties as needed.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate loud noises.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors as required.
- Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
- Pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Drivers License required.
