About The Position

Occupational Therapist (O.T.) – PRN Inpatient Bring your passion to Texas Health where we are Better + Together. This position floats between the Texas Health Southwest and Texas Health Clearfork campuses. The Occupational Therapy Department is Magnet designated and features self-scheduling, opportunities for educational and career growth, and an excellent experienced team with very high engagement and safety scores. The role involves working with a variety of patients from orthopedic surgery to ICU.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Problem-solving ability; Ability to teach others.
Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

No Experience necessary; Prefer 1 year acute care Occupational Therapy experience.
Acute Care Adult OT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
