The Occupational Therapist (O.T.) - PRN Inpatient role at Texas Health offers a unique opportunity to bring your passion to a Magnet-designated facility. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required.
• OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Problem- solving ability; Ability to teach others.
• Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• No Experience necessary; Prefer 1 year acute care Occupational Therapy experience.
• Acute Care Adult OT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
• Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
• Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
• Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
