About The Position

Pinellas County Rehabilitation Hospital is opening May 2026! Join our team to work in a beautiful new hospital with 36 private patient rooms and 2 rehab therapy gyms with cutting-edge technology. The Occupational Therapist independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, and delivers or delegates services to identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged skill or ability impairments. The goal is to maximize function in activities of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work. This role also addresses dysfunction in psychosocial skills, cognition, and sensorimotor components. Interventions and procedures are used to promote or enhance safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL), instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), education, work, play, leisure, and social participation.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained from the American Heart Association and/or American Red Cross. Online certification is not acceptable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to meet strict time frames

Nice To Haves

  • Inpatient rehabilitation experience

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluates, determines the treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged, skill or ability that has not yet is impaired in order to maximize function in the areas of activities of daily living, leisure/recreation, and productivity/work.
