About the position

Near North Health, a longstanding pillar of Chicago's healthcare landscape, is seeking a visionary and compassionate Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join our dedicated team. Since our inception in 1966, we have remained committed to our mission of providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality primary healthcare services to all, regardless of their financial circumstances. As Obstetrician/Gynecologist, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities. Your ability to assist our patients/clients with coordinating their medical and mental needs will further solidify our position as one of the largest providers of community-based primary care in the city.

Responsibilities

  • Provides compassionate patient-centered, culturally competent care, including eliciting patient histories, providing accurate diagnosis, and determining effective treatment options.
  • Prepares, implements, and documents age-specific preventive health schedules for female patients.
  • Makes appropriate diagnoses and prescribes appropriate prescriptions and referrals consistent with medical practice guidelines.
  • Plays a role in educating and training medical and healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Accepts and implements teaching assignments of health center staff as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited Medical School.
  • Current Illinois State License, Controlled Substance License & DEA.
  • Licensed as a Physician in the State of Illinois.
  • Completed an Accredited Post-Graduate Training Program in Obstetrics.
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Obstetrics.
