About the position
The Nutrition Technician at Easterseals North Georgia is responsible for preparing and serving meals in compliance with the Child Adult Care Food Program meal pattern requirements. This entry-level position involves maintaining kitchen organization, inventory management, and ensuring health and safety standards are met while promoting the organization's values and mission.
Responsibilities
- Prepare wholesome, nutritious meals in sufficient quantities to meet scheduled meal times.
- Record accurate points of meals served for each meal or snack.
- Ensure organization and cleanliness of the kitchen.
- Order food supplies according to the most current menu.
- Communicate effectively with the Center Manager, Assistant Center Manager, and Nutrition Specialist regarding food program issues.
- Monitor inventory of food on hand and order foods/supplies as needed.
- Complete the CACFP food report and submit it in a timely manner.
- Record food service data on a daily and weekly basis.
- Record temperatures of refrigerator/freezer twice daily.
- Keep cleaning supplies and food separate and maintain food safety standards.
- Participate in all mandatory Easter Seals trainings.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Direct food preparation experience
- Knowledge of health and safety practices for food preparation and clean-up
- Ability to comprehend and implement recipes
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen appliances
- Effective organizational skills
