About The Position

The Nutrition Service Technician Registered is responsible for making initial patient visits to determine nutritional needs and preferences, gathering and processing menu selections and diet orders. This role provides nutritional instruction and information to patients, monitors meal and nourishment services to ensure patients receive correct food selections and are satisfied with the service. The technician also writes menus for special, regular, and modified diets, prepares tube feedings and snack bags, and performs functions of the Nutrition Services Supervisor on a limited but regular schedule. Collaboration with other clinical and food service personnel is a key aspect of this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer application skills required.
  • Will be required to enroll in, and satisfactorily complete a course on Nutrition within the first six months of employment, if not certified.
  • One year of previous experience working with the public and keeping records required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Dietetic Technician preferred.
