About the position

Join our team at Cedar Hills as a Registered Nurse Supervisor and learn how you can make a lasting difference in your community! Cedar Hills Hospital currently has an opening for a RN in our dynamic mental health facility, who will provide safe and effective nursing care in their assigned work area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Cedar Hills Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures of the Nursing Department. The RN collaborates with physicians, licensed independent practitioners, and multidisciplinary team members to promote and restore patients' health by assessing patients, planning for their care, and providing physical and psychological treatment. This position will be an integral part of the leadership team who will provide leadership and education to the nursing team. This will be a hands-on position that will also work the occasional floor shift. Open Shift: Float 12:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sign on Bonus available! We are seeking Registered Nurses with an interest or background in behavioral health to join our team and to support our patients in one of our specialty care programs: Inpatient: Crisis Stabilization, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, The Military Program, Co-Occurring Disorders, The Women's Program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective nursing care in assigned work areas.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to promote and restore patients' health.
  • Assess patients and plan for their care.
  • Provide physical and psychological treatment to patients.
  • Lead and educate the nursing team as part of the leadership team.
  • Work occasional floor shifts as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in nursing; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
  • New grads welcome; one or more years of psychiatric nursing experience is a plus but not required.
  • Unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Demonstrate core nursing knowledge/competencies including medication administration and principles of adult education.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and execute policies, procedures, treatment plans, and clinical standards.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to co-workers and patients.
  • Ability to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies for psychiatric and/or substance use disorders.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in psychiatric nursing is a plus but not required.
