About the position

The Nursing/Simulation Lab Professor at Nashua Community College is responsible for educating students and developing lab curricula and patient simulations within the Nursing Simulation Lab. This role involves teaching assigned laboratory courses, managing patient simulations, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards while promoting critical thinking and life skills among students. The position requires collaboration with faculty, oversight of lab operations, and engagement in community and professional activities related to nursing education.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches and assists assigned laboratory course schedules in the Simulation Lab for the Nursing Program.
  • Demonstrates teaching effectiveness through the development, modification, delivery, and evaluation of program laboratory curricula and instructional materials.
  • Maintains accessibility to assist students with their learning needs in the Nursing Simulation Lab.
  • Supervises student learning activities and maintains accurate records of student progress.
  • Assists with planning and managing patient simulation labs across the curriculum.
  • Maintains and provides oversight for lab classroom, simulation suite, equipment, and budget in collaboration with the department chair.
  • Coordinates and leads departmental laboratory activities and operations.
  • Provides leadership in planning and implementing college-sponsored recruitment and retention activities.
  • Engages in professional activities related to Nursing and Simulation Laboratory instruction.
  • Remains technologically and pedagogically current in the Nursing Laboratory field of instruction.
  • Observes all academic policies and procedures and demonstrates ethical behavior.
  • Serves on campus or system committees and teams.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Nursing or a related health field.
  • Six years of teaching experience in nursing, with two years in supervision or program administration.
  • Current license to practice as a registered Nurse in NH.
  • Valid driver's license.
